Stewardship is much more than responding to the financial needs of our parish: it is a profoundly spiritual matter, involving nothing less than a complete lifestyle, a total accountability and responsibility before God. We will not beg you for money. We are all responsible people and people of faith with a clear understanding of what it means to be a church member. We are God’s people who are: All church members need to consider this prayerfully before God. It is a deeply spiritual matter, a call to conversion. It’s what we do after we say we believe, after we give our love, loyalty and trust to God from whom each and every aspect of our lives comes as a gift. Christianity has never been a comfortable faith. Jesus calls us to join his struggle and in the process grow to be God’s people. We ask all parishioners to aim at giving 10% of their income. This is more easily achieved by small annual increments. If you want to know about our financial position you will find it in the Annual Reports available to all church members. Please contact the office if you require further information or wish to request an automatic payment form or giving envelopes. This form (in pdf format, 866kb) may also be used. BequestsPlease think about making a bequest to your church by asking your solicitor to add a codicil to your will. They will know the appropriate words. Your bequest may not seem a vast sum, but it can make all the difference. Bequests have greatly assisted our ministry in recent years. Vestry is most appreciative of bequests to the parish because these valuable funds have enabled us to maintain and upgrade the parish plant so that new generations can be welcomed to the church and taught the faith. Thank you to those who have made provision in your wills for the ministry needs of the parish. • It’s never too soon to include a bequest to your church but one day it will be too late! • You may talk in confidence about this matter to the vicar or any of the wardens. Your gift will be appreciated by generations to come. |
